After a lot of searching, I have come to realize the trim is not being reproduced and I will need to find a part number catalog to search further with any hope of success in finding NOS. I'll also check on refurbishing the existing as it is complete...just dinged up pretty good on the passenger side. At any rate, your after pics of the paint and new trim solidifies my desire to go with the chrome.

I 'm still in the beginning stages of the project and trying to get my ducks in a row. This helps a lot!

Hi Shea,

Unfortunately the side trim is not currently being reproduced. I did an internet search for the actual ford part number for the original trim kit and managed to find someone's parts inventory that had not yet listed the trim for sale (I believe he was just cataloging his stuff for his own use and it happened to be visible on search engines. I then contacted him via telephone and arranged to buy it off of him. A good metal shop might be able to help you get your original stuff straightened and chromed, however.

Spiralbound -
Beautiful car... and a blast to cruise!
I have just started a '66 Galaxie 500 Convertible (352 4 BBL) resto myself that looks to be your twin vehicle (candy apple red). My rocker panel, side, and door trim, which is identical to yours, is 100% original and complete, but is a little too rough to reuse as is. Do you have information regarding a source for these new trim pieces (OEM, re-pop, refurbishedor, or ???) . I have seen plenty of this vintage without the side trim, but I really would prefer the chrome. Any info would be appreciated.
